Proceeds benefit Uplifting Athletes, Inc.
The Syracuse Chapter of Uplifting Athletes is looking to turn touchdowns into rare disease research dollars.
In order to support the Orange’s chosen rare disease, Anaplastic astrocytoma, the Syracuse Chapter is holding a Touchdown Pledge Drive on November 1.
For the home game at the Carrier Dome against fellow ACC foe North Carolina State, each touchdown the Orange score will support Anaplastic astrocytoma research.
Fans can support the football student-athlete led Syracuse Chapter by making a donation through the Orange’s online Touchdown Pledge Drive site.
The Syracuse Chapter was founded in 2012 in honor of former Orange punter and team captain Rob Long, who overcame his battle with the rare disease Anaplstic astrocytoma.
Uplifting Athletes is a national non-profit organization aligning college football with rare diseases and raising them as a national priority through outreach, research, education and advocacy.
Each of the 25 student-athlete led chapters nationwide raises research funds and brings awareness to their chosen rare disease through a Lift For Life fundraiser. Syracuse held its second Lift For Life event this past summer and raised $7,354 for Anaplastic astrocytoma research.
